Continuing Education: Quenching Your Thirst for Knowledge
In the past 50 years, over a million students have passed through the doors of St. Louis Community College. A large portion of these students have enrolled in continuing education classes.
Did you know that the tradition of offering continuing education classes started the same time as the college?
It was one of the four programs of instruction offering educational opportunities to many kinds of students.
In the 1962-63 college catalog, it states, “It is hoped, moreover, students who enroll at The Junior College District will discover that learning is a never-ending process, and that they will be stimulated to continue their quest for knowledge throughout the rest of their lives. For these students and others who want to enrich their lives, advance their careers, or simply acquire fresh idea, The Junior College District offers a variety of courses which is called the community service program.”
