Getting Involved: Student Organizations for the New School Year

With the beginning of another semester at St. Louis Community College campuses on the horizon, students are finalizing schedules, picking up textbooks and gearing up for class. But no matter how many semesters they’ve been attending STLCC, students always have new opportunities to get involved with student organizations. With hundreds of clubs, teams and groups across all campuses, students can pick one that best fits their interests and — most importantly — gets them involved.

Forest Park: With so many international students calling this campus home, you can expect a distinct cultural flair to many clubs at Forest Park, such as the International Student Club. Many other clubs are geared towards educational interests, like the Student Nurse Association and Tomorrow’s Law /Pre-Law Club. For a complete rundown of Forest Park’s student life, visit their website or the Campus Life Office.

Florissant Valley: Whether their interests are in the literary world with the Tolkein Adventure Community or fun with the Rubik’s Cube Club, Florissant Valley offers students an opportunity to get involved. Other clubs include the Poetry Club and Photography Club, amongst others, for students looking to pick up new skills. For more information on these clubs and others offered at Florissant Valley, visit their website.

Meramec: At the Meramec campus, administrators and professors know there’s more to the college experience than attending classes.  Students have numerous opportunities to join in special events, theatre performances, Friday night movies and more.

Wildwood: With the Wildwood Student Government club and the Adult Students Association, Wildwood students have endless opportunities to get involved. From outdoor movies to live music events, there’s something for everyone.

Were you involved in one of our many student organizations during your time here? How did it help shape your life and experience on campus? Tell us your story by leaving a mark on our 50th anniversary map!
