Here's a story from: St Charles, MO (US)

I attended St.LCC at Florissant Valley and I really love the faculty there – they're so helpful and helped me build my confidence both emotionally and academically. I used to have an irrational fear of math but now, because of the faculty that helped me overcome this (namely: Dr. Patricia Suess for Pre-Calculus and Rokhaya Niang Ndao for Calculus 1 and also Mr. Richard Pescarino who challenged me to do well, whom I had for Calculus ) I am more interested in math continued taking more and more math classes outside of my major (physics); I'm only one class away from getting a math minor. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Jennifer Medeiros (my American history teacher) for making me develop a new interest in history (I used to hate history) and Larhonda Wilson (for helping me overall – I really owe a LOT to this teacher and really shaped who I am today). I'd like to thank Dino Edmonds (my physics teacher) for helping me develop an interest in physics (he made it seem so easy when I had my concerns about it being difficult). I'd like to thank Tim Layton (my english comp. teacher) for brightening up my days with his humor. I'd also like to thank Dr. Chaya Gopalan and Sharon Fox for making me realize my potential (I didn't think much about myself before). And finally I'd really like to thank Emily Lasek from the counseling services for really helping me out to figure out who I am and what's good for me, and for helping me think outside the box in dealing with my personal life. All in all, it was a great experience I had here. Did I mention I also met my husband at St. LCC-Florissant Valley? His name is James Littles, III (if anyone who reads this remembers either of us). Thank you, St. LCC for really bringing me out as an individual and for supporting me!
