I waved good by to my youngest child as she rode off on the school bus, and then I hopped in my car and drove to my first class at FVCC. That was the beginning of a 12 year adventure ending in a BS degree in Biology and an interesting job as a Research Biologist in the pharmaceutical industry. I loved the small classes and great instruction at Flo Valley. Both of my children also started their educations at Flo; my son spent the last semester as a high school senior there on a dual enrollment program and then stayed for his first two years of college. My daughter completed her A.A. there. Both of my kids worked there while attending school; my son mentored in the math lab and my daughter worked in the library. The community college gave us all a great head start in our lives and careers. It definitely had a positive impact on all of our lives.
